Lawmakers still on vacay.......

Both legislative chambers adjourned on May 7th for a spring break. State representatives return to the House on Monday, May 20 with Senators returning on May 28th. Senators could be called back prior to the 28th by the senate president with 48 hours notice.
We could see a few bills, left in legislative limbo just prior to the break, make it to a third read and the governor's desk upon lawmakers' return.
We should also see some version of a Prop 123 extension ballot referral make an appearance along with new language on a Diamondbacks' stadium tax cut bill. Agreement was not reached on either issue before lawmakers left for their spring break.
Budget negotiation and discussion should kick into high gear when lawmakers return even though they have not shown any enthusiasm to begin talks thus far. The budget is the one task given to lawmakers in the state constitution.
