Turnout, win ratio, demographics, in-person vs vote-by-mail. We measure everything relating to elections.
There is another measurement that may be more important in planning what to do next in a very high turnout district. Let’s call it Opportunity. It consists of votes we’ve left behind in the past and new voters who may not know our district.
The average Opportunity number in LD3 is 5%, the lowest of any LD.
For Maricopa County, the number is 15%, several LDs have more than 30% of this combination – votes left behind plus new voters. Finding these votes is key to electing County officials.
It is no surprise that our Precincts with the highest Opportunity value are those with apartments. They are harder to canvass and require a different strategy.
