AZ LD3 Democrats reaches deeper into the voter pool than any other LD. Period.
Districts working on “flipping the legislature” (ADLCC districts) do more critically important canvassing than LD3. They have millions of dollars in indirect support from the state party.
LD3 is tied with LD1 in Yavapai County and LD30 (Lake Havasu) for the most registered Republicans, around 87,000 in each district. We have one School District, Cave Creek, with more Republicans than the sum of all other voters. 55.85% of our voters are considered MAGA. We are very red.
Our response is to dig deep. The mailer goes to:
Every registered Democrat
Every Dem-leaning Independent, Republican, No Labels, Green and Libertarian
Every single voter in LD3 identified as “persuadable” by the DNC, regardless of party
Every voter who was in one of these categories in July but has subsequently dropped below those lines
Fifteen percent of the doors received more than one mailer due to multiple surnames or owner/renter situations. Deadman Wash was 20% higher, with Fountain Hills precinct at 9%
39% of recipients are not registered Democrats
The LD3 canvasses, with two exceptions, are targeted toward those precincts that have the highest number of “persuadables”. Two precincts are targeted because of low turnout. Our canvasses include voters of all parties, building on our “one-click” process of always including Independents in everything we do.
Our five School Districts are being canvassed where reasonable and texted everywhere.
Lately, there has been concern raised about the 24,000 voters in LD3 on the current Inactive Voter list. MCDP recently targeted those Dem-leaning inactive voters who have voted in the last year. This is a clear indication of voters who have an address discrepancy the county Recorder’s office has not been able to rectify. It is a problem primarily around our colleges. For LD3, this target would be 80 voters. You can learn more about who Inactive Voters are from the County Elections offices in this informative video.
We use our generous donations wisely and with transparency. In fact, you can view our financial details, along with that of candidates and PACS at https://seethemoney.az.gov/ Financial information on County, School Board and City candidates are found on their respective websites.
